We are delighted to share that Embarque has been awarded Gold and named Category Winner in the English Small Batch Single Malt (No Age Statement) category at this year’s World Whiskies Awards. This prestigious recognition places Embarque among the very best whiskies judged on the global stage.
Founded in 2007 by Whisky Magazine, the World Whiskies Awards are internationally respected for their rigorous and impartial judging process. Each entry is blind tasted by an expert panel and assessed across aroma, flavour, finish and overall balance. Individual scores are combined to determine Gold medal winners and category champions, making this award a significant achievement for London Distillery Company.
Embarque is a bold and expressive London single malt inspired by London’s historic maritime trade and the journey of sherry casks from Jerez to the capital.
Finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks from the renowned Bodegas Barbadillo and bottled at 57.7% ABV, Embarque delivers rich layers of dark fruit, burnt orange, spice, toasted oak and cinder toffee, followed by a long, warming finish. Its depth, balance and character impressed the judges and secured its place as category winner.
As we’re only into the second year of our revival journey, this recognition is a tremendous boost and acknowledgement of the dedication of our team.
